The Version 3.3 update of Genshin Impact is nearly here and will be loaded with new content for players to delve into. But most Travelers are already eager to know what comes after that.
The Version 3.4 update of Genshin is still a while away, for the time being, but those in the title’s wider community have been uncovering exciting new leaks about what the update may include for months already.
The main Archon quest storyline for Sumeru may have come to a close, but miHoYo certainly has a plethora of content in the works to keep players busy in the Dendro region for the time being. There are likely at least three or four more waves of Version 3.0 updates before players will set off to Fontaine, the Hydro region of Teyvat.
All Genshin Impact Version 3.4 leaks
Nothing has been officially confirmed by miHoYo for Version 3.4 just yet, but those in the Genshin insider community are fairly reliable with the information that they uncover and share. The leak community tends to be pretty accurate, so players can expect that most of what they find will indeed be released.
New characters in Genshin Impact Version 3.4
The Dendro character Alhaitham first leaked alongside a full cast of Sumeru characters back in July 2022. Since then, players have eagerly awaited the opportunity to recruit the character since they have met him in Sumeru time and time again.
After a lengthy wait, he will officially be joining Teyvat as a playable character in the Version 3.4 update of Genshin. He is almost certainly a five-star Dendro Sword character, but only some of this information is facts while the rest is based on leaks.
He is not definitively a five-star character just yet, but leaks and his overall design suggest he will be. His elemental burst has also been uncovered by the leak community, which strongly supports him being a five-star due to the unique zoom-in action shot only five-star characters get during their elemental bursts.
His Dendro Vision is prominently displayed on his outfit and he is certainly a Dendro character. Alhaitham has been seen wielding a sword on a few occasions, such as in miHoYo’s “Sumeru Promotional Video,” and most within the leak community have found evidence to back this up, so he is suspected to be a sword wielder.
Alhaitham’s arrival in 3.4 was officially confirmed by miHoYo when they posted the following tweet about him.

Another character named Yaoyao, who first surfaced years ago and has been seen in a lot of leaked content since, is also finally making her debut during the Version 3.4 update. She is believed to be a four-star Dendro character but has only been definitively confirmed to wield the Dendro element. Her weapon is currently relatively unknown, but many within the community have uncovered information that makes them suspect she will wield a polearm.

Rerun banners for Genshin Impact Version 3.4
Every Version update of Genshin also brings back beloved Teyvat characters from the past to give players more chances to add those that they may have missed to their roster. MiHoYo typically releases one new five-star character per Version update with three rerun banners to fill in around it and a new four-star character alongside two of them.
After not receiving a rerun for over a year, which may be the longest duration a character has gone without being rerun yet, the five-star Pyro Polearm character Hu Tao is likely to finally return as a recruitable character in Version 3.4.
Hu Tao is a Pyro powerhouse who is generally regarded as one of Genshin’s best characters and has only had two banner runs, with her last occurring in Nov. 2021.

A Hu Tao rerun is almost certain according to the Genshin leak community and due to how long it has been since she received a rerun. Outside of Hu Tao, all other potential reruns have changed around quite a bit.
At first, there was many leaks suggesting that the five-star Cryo Polearm character Shenhe, the five-star Cryo Sword character Kamisato Ayaka might appear in Version 3.4. Leaks also believed that some Liyue characters like the five-star Cryo Bow character Ganyu and the five-star Geo Polearm character Zhongli could appear in 3.4 due to another run of the Lantern Rite festival event being speculated to occur.
However, now the Version 3.4 is finally close at hand the official reruns seem to be the five-star Anemo Polearm character Xiao and the five-star Hydro Bow character Yelan. The speculated banner schedule is Alhaitham and Xiao in phase one with Yaoyao and Hu Tao and Yelan in phase two.
Map expansion in Genshin Impact Version 3.4
The desert region of Sumeru is expected to expand a few more times before the waves of Version 3.0 updates come to an end. Version 3.4 has had numerous leaks suggesting that a new expansion is set to occur when the update is released. This expansion is believed to be called the Desert of Hadramaveth.
The potential leaked expansion includes a wide variety of new locations, enemies, and activities for players to engage in. Everything that has been found for the potential 3.4 Sumeru desert expansion is as follows.
- The map expansion is believed to be separated into three layers or subregions.
- Players may be faced with two different map modes, one of which is normal and the other which is sandstorm. Not much is known about how this feature will work, but based on past instances, it may function similarly to the dangerous lightning-filled areas of Inazuma that players had to fix to stop the lightning.
- A new city called Gurtabad City will be accessible to players. This will likely feature shops and other elements that players can interact with.
- Some sort of Eremite Black Market Camp will be added with this expansion.
- A new boss, which is believed to be called the Sandworm, lives in a cave in this region.
- Quite a few other caves, including the Aranara Cave, King Deshret Cave, God of Wisdom Cave, Grass Dragon Cave, and the Kusalani Cave may be found in this region.
- Two areas with little information called the Sand Ruins and the Eternal Oasis exist on this leaked map.
- An area that is likely tied to a World Quest, which is called The Scarlet King’s Cup Cave, is a sort of boss battle arena that players will be able to venture to within this region.
- There will potentially be a Ruin Golem or even Ruin Golems around this area.

Genshin Impact Version 3.4 events
Every new Genshin update also brings a few special events for players to participate in for solid rewards. Some potential leaked events for the upcoming update include:
- Version 3.4 will feature an event called “Warrior’s Spirit,” which will be centered around charity, mercy, and the traditional Inazuman Warrior’s Spirit competitive event. Players will strive to become the champion of this event.
- An event that asks players to enter a Domain and complete challenges called “Second Blooming” will also occur during this update. Players will be working to help a researcher named Gafoor collect and learn data from Ley Lines to receive rewards in return.
- A “Desert of Hadramaveth” event related to the map expansion will occur.
- Three other events have been uncovered, but their names are currently unknown. One is believed to be a massive Liyue celebration composed of many smaller events while the other two are unclear. The Liyue celebration is suspected to possibly be the return of the Lantern Rite festival.
Genshin Impact Version 3.4 weapons
One new weapon, which appears to be designed for the Dendro character arriving in Version 3.4 Alhaitham, has surfaced. This sword is called Light of Foliar Sanction and focuses on building critical rate.
Kamisato Ayaka and Lisa skins in Genshin Impact Version 3.4
More looks for characters are still a fairly new feature in Genshin but two more may arrive in Version 3.4 to grant players access to new looks. These skins are believed to be for the five-star Cryo Sword character Kamisato Ayaka and the four-star Electro Catalyst character Lisa.
While these skins have long been in circulation among the leak community, more information and looks at them have surfaced which each passing update. Both new looks may finally arrive in Version 3.4, but if they don’t, they will almost certainly arrive in the near future since they have appeared in game files numerous times.
The meaning of Kamisato Ayaka’s skin is rather unclear but players have speculated it may mean she will make a visit to Mondstadt sometime soon. Lisa’s outfit is much more intriguing because it represents her origins as one of Sumeru’s top scholars before she then set off to Mondstadt to become the librarian players know her as today.
New Genius Invokation TCG cards in Genshin Impact Version 3.4
The latest game mode to join the world of Genshin is a fast-paced card game that offers players a break from intense battles around Teyvat. This feature currently only has a limited number of character cards that is not representative of Genshin’s massive roster, but two more character cards are expected to arrive in Version 3.4 to expand the roster a bit further.

A character card for the five-star Pyro Catalyst character Klee and one for the four-star Electro Claymore character Beidou have been leaked for Version 3.4. This also likely means that Travelers can expect to see more cards continuously added to Genius Invokation TCG in the future.
Alongside these exciting additions, miHoYo may also be making some changes to existing cards and many within the community are worried that card abilities will be nerfed. Yoimiya, Collei, Minty Meat Rolls, and Maguu Kenki will all be receiving changes while Beidou seems to have undergone some changes before her official release.

The special program detailing all that is to come in the Version 3.4 update of Genshin will air on Jan. 6, 2023. Players will learn a lot more about what they can expect to see in the update at this time.

Based on when the current banners will be coming to an end and miHoYo’s regular Version schedule, Version 3.4 should be released mid-January on Jan. 17. The Version update will immediately kick off with two new character banners but other content like the special events may not arrive until later on in the update.
